I wander off to stalk someone with a strange symbol on their jacket for a day (turned out to be nothing), and come back to find a headless deer near my lawn and several blog posts saying that someone else has gone missing? Well shit. Like Hawk said, people need to stop disappearing.

On a lighter note, I made some ‘dream pillows’ for Hawk and Eternity. Without going into detail, the dream pillows are pillows stuffed with some herbs and ect that will help prevent psychic attacks and promote a peaceful sleep. Will they keep Hypnos away completely? No. Will they make things a little more difficult for Hypnos? Most definitely. Well…hopefully. They’re better than nothing.
According to Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, blueberries are supposed to give you some protection while you’re under psychic attack. Hope they like blueberries.
Think I’ll make some dream catchers as well. Not sure what I’m going to make them with yet.

And I don’t care what this says about me, but I want to eat that deer. I love venison.

  1. First of all, hmmm venison drools. But I didn't know blueberries helped prevent psychic attacks. I may have to get me some. I personally love blueberries.

  2. Venison? You should definitely clean it first, but..May we join you? We can help fix it, if you'd like.

And thank you..Thank you for the dream pillows. I for one am a blueberry fan. When Hawk stops glaring out the window at...whatever he's glaring at, I will ask him.

  3. The Rake killed that deer and just left it sitting there? A bit unusual isn't it?

  4. @Faustus: I love blueberries as well.

@Eternity: Of course you can! It needs to be skinned and gutted, then hosed off and left to hang overnight… I think we’ll hang it in the garage so nothing gets it. We’ll properly prepare and cook it in the morning. How do you like your venison cooked, grilled or done over a fire?

You’re welcome. I have two blueberry plants growing in the side yard.
If Hawk insists on glaring out of windows, he should glare out of an upstairs window. He’ll have a better view.
I’m actually trying to break the habit of staring out of windows for long periods of time. I mostly do it at night…

  5. @Hawk: The Rake likes to leave threats… Apparently he doesn’t like the fact that we can come and go as we please. And yes, it was the Rake that left it there. The claw marks on the deer’s chest are exactly the same as the claw marks it left on trees. I checked, just in case.

  6. Well, if the Rake was a bit friendlier, he might not have to be restrained. ;)
That puts me a bit at ease, knowing it was him and not...something else.

  7. I prefer done over a fire, but that is entirely up to you. It is after all, your gift from our clawed friend out there.

It worries me to be honest. Usually, when I stare off into the distance, it means I am thinking of doing something I should not.

  8. @Hawk: Haha, yeah :) I wanted to be 100% sure the Rake left it and not something else… I’m actually a very paranoid person; I’ve just learned not to show it as much.

    @Eternity: I’ll go start a fire :)

I know what you mean…nowadays when I stare off into the distance, I’m usually thinking about shooting the Rake with another arrow, which probably isn’t the best idea.

@Zia: I got an email alert saying that you commented…but when I look at my blog your comment isn’t here. Strange…

I’m not offended. I always welcome helpful information, even if I don’t know the person it’s from. I think I’ll use dogwood, and the sinews from the deer. Yes, I use feathers. I usually use red-winged black bird feathers, in honor of one of my totem animals. I doubt I’ll be able to get an eagle’s feather, but I may be able to get some owl feathers. And probably hawk feathers, as well. Thank you for the information.

  9. How strange, indeed. I wonder why that is. I will look into it, as I don't see it as posted here either.
I am quite glad you are not offended. Sometimes, the people I interact with do not like outsiders who they don't know trying to help, even if it would save them much trouble. I always try though, regardless.
Good choice on the red-winged black bird, by the way. Feathers from one are coveted among some people here because they are rare in some areas.

  10. @Skan: If you do decide to shoot the rake again with an arrow, you might want to try coating thie arrow tip with Spicy concoction oil just to be extra cruel.

  11. @Zia: I’ve noticed that about some people, and I don’t comprehend their logic. If someone is offering helpful advice, why ignore it?
Thanks. Where I live, the red-winged black bird population has suddenly increased, for some reason.

@Faustus: If I do, I’ll coat the tip in SC, but I probably won’t. I don’t like losing my arrows, heheh. Maybe I’ll sharpen the end of a stick instead.

  13. Well, if the bird is your totem animal, then the sudden increase might, and I do mean might, have something to do with you. The more a person connects with their totem animal, the more likely it is that the animals in the area will physically respond to something going on in that person's life. Perhaps the bird is alerting you to something?

  14. The population just started increasing this spring…maybe they were trying to warn me about the Rake? If so, then I completely overlooked their warning…
